IronmanUK Challenge

Good swim time of 1hr.20 which would have been better but for a spot of vomitting on lap2 of the lake which slowed things down ... contributing to hyprthermia, meaning an hour and a quarter delay until being allowed to start the 112 mile cycle.

More misfortune as a broken bike chain meant another long delay waiting for the bike mechanic.

Despite all the delays he only missed the bike to run transition cut-off time by 40 mins. Arriving fresh and ready to go for the marathon, rules are rules, and he was not allowed to take part in the marathon.

GUTTED!

Thanks to everyone for the support, he's raised around £900 so far for Penny Brohn Cancer Care

Tai Chi Theme Park?

Tai Chi Theme Park?
Sorry, but this doesn't sound like a very good idea (to put it mildly) and totally unsuitable for the Wudang area. I hope that if they do go ahead that it is done as tastefully as possible, but somehow I doubt it ...

Yoga and Tai Chi are two more popular complementary treatments. What they share is that they combine movement, posture and breathing to help people relax and achieve a "balance" between body, mind and spirit. Let's look at each one.

Having began my own tai chi journey several years ago for the same reason I would encourage anyone else to try tai chi, a wonderful complementary therapy.

Standing Meditation

Standing Meditation for Tai Chi by Cynthia McMullen, LMT

This excellent post is definitely worth a look, it describes perfectly the procedure of a standing meditation that is practiced prior to a tai chi form. Even if you don't practice tai chi you can still enjoy this Qigong exercise.

Standing meditation is the most basic posture in Qi Gong, and Tai Chi is a form of Qi Gong. Simple standing is usually done first to ground and center ourselves, and begin to open and fill our energy centers.
